Game Design

This page is a space for me to share some of the interactive content I have authored over the years. Most recently, I have used HTML5 and related authoring tools to make a single level proof of concept for an exploration game called "Parallaxia" - so named because of my use of the parallax effect in the side scrolling. I got my start in game design and programming back in the 80s on my Atari 1200XL 8-bit computer. Recently, I have been using "Atari800MacX" - an excellent 6502 (the processor in Atari 8-bits) emulator. Future additions to this page will feature BASIC (filename.bas) and machine code compiled games and music related apps for the Atari 8-bits and the various emulators out there.

The Parallaxia zip file below will
run on most browsers supporting HTML5
(needs internet for javascript resources to load)
Right click and choose "open with..." and choose your browser.
For .dcr Director files you may need to convince
the browser on Mac to open the file (switch from "recommended
applications" to "All Applications".Make sure ad blockers are
turned off, and you may have to "trust" the file when it loads in
the browser. Whew! the modern web is complicated and paranoid
for an independent developer!
